As a songwriter, musician, producer, recording engineer, and owner of TinWolf Studios since 1990, Tom Tincler brings to his clients a diverse music career than spans more than three decades. He understands and appreciates what each artist goes through to develop great material and has worked with songwriters for the past 20 years to transform their original compositions into full-length CDs – several of which have received radio play and recognition from Billboard Magazine and Billboard’s World Song Contest. Tom’s passion is to compile a landmark album that successfully showcases the individuality and talent of each artist.
Having lived most his life in the Boston area, Tom grew up listening to big band, jazz, country, blues, rock and pop. When he was age 11 he started playing acoustic and electric guitar, followed by drums, bass, and keyboards. Using the stage name “Tink,” he formed his first band at 13, and two years later put together his second band “Pulsar,” in which he played drums and sang lead vocals. At 17 he joined the progressive rock band “Lord of the Rings” as drummer and vocalist, touring with the band throughout New England for the next five years. Tom continued to play in such bands as “Summer Street,” “Paradise Drive,” and “Rocking Blues Masters,” playing major venues throughout Greater Boston and New England.
During the time he was touring, Tom began gaining knowledge about recording studios, which led to an ambitious vision of owning and running a studio that would work exclusively with songwriters. He soon established TinWolf Studios, immediately began working with songwriters and producing several albums, and six years later recorded his first solo album, “Tink’s Bipolar Joy.” On his album, Tom wrote all songs, produced, engineered, sang lead vocals, and performed all music with some help from friend and fellow musician Pete Sanders. In 2000 he teamed up with guitarist-vocalist Bob Wolfman to form the fusion band Wolfman and Tink.
Tom has produced, engineered, and performed on albums with a diverse group of artists such as Shiner Jones (acoustic rock); Shakti (Pop Rock), Cat Sass Blues Band (Electric Blues); Sandra Aran (Jazz); 6S (pop rock); Double O Syko (Speed Metal), 45th Parallel (Folk Rock); Karl Steudel; Ernest Lijoi; and Brad Macomber. Several new projects are currently under development at TinWolf.
